Space Misfits is a futuristic Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that gives players the opportunity to benefit from a Play-to-Earn (P2E) model thanks to the in-game mechanics built with ENJIN Blockchain technology.
The game allows players to enjoy 5 different game modes with their own distinctive mechanics:
Role Playing
Players of Space Misfits will be able to choose between a wide range of roles inside the game. Some of the roles available are:
- Miners who harvest minerals from asteroids
- Builders who craft in-game assets and sell on the market
- NPC hunters who fight in open space and claim the loot.
Each player’s role gives them an opportunity to earn in-game rewards. To buy in-game assets players will have to earn BITS by fulfilling their role in the metaverse.
Excursions
This game mode lets players embark on excursions within the Space Misfits universe. The rogue-like gameplay provides players a flying experience with procedurally generated levels.
A player must travel through space gates to enter a new system and complete tasks to advance each level. This gameplay can be completed solo or with other players.
The rewards increase as players progress deeper into the game. Players face the decision to keep progressing through the levels collecting more rewards or abandon their progress to return the rewards they have collected.
If a player loses their ship in this game mode, all rewards including their ship will be lost.
PVP Arena
This mode aims to bring eSports inside Space Misfits given the rise of the popularity of eSports.
Players can place wagers on their matches using the in-game currency and obtain rewards from their performance in the arena.
The player arena will support up to 5v5 matches.
Space Flight
Space Misfits doesn’t strive to be an ultra-realistic space flight simulator.
The team wants to give players a fast and fun Space game experience. With either a cockpit view or 3rd person camera view outside the ship, players will be able to partake in a more enjoyable dogfighting experience.
During fights players will be able to execute high-speed maneuvers in space to avoid their enemy’s attacks as they have full control of their ships. Players can also use objects such as space asteroids and structures to avoid incoming missiles.
Security Zones
Misfits control and protect the 7 systems in the game.
Players will have to wait until season 3 for the opportunity to roam around freely and PVP in the unexplored space outside the 7 systems.
The roving patrol has been created by the Misfits to keep space safe from pirates inside the 7 systems. If a player engages another player inside the 7 systems, Misfit Patrols will seek the attacker out and immediately destroy him. A penalty will be applied to that player and NPC patrol will continue to seek out and destroy it for a specific amount of time.
Friendly fire has been blocked for the early development versions, making it impossible for players to shoot another player character inside Space Misfits.
New security features and controls will be implemented with the release of Season 3 to discourage this behavior inside the 7 systems.
