Axalta Launches New Epoxy Primer for Trailer Industry

Axalta Coating Systems (NYSE: AXTA), a leading, global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, is pleased to announce the launch of a new epoxy primer targeted for the economy trailer manufacturing industry.

Axalta Coating Systems’ initial launch of its Trailer Topcoat system in 2014 included a modified-acrylic primer and 2K single stage polyurethane topcoat that is available in six standard solid and metallic colors. This year, Axalta has added an epoxy primer as well as one new factory packaged color.

The Trailer Topcoat system now consists of a modified-acrylic primer, epoxy primer, and seven factory packaged colors, specifically for use on a variety of trailer makes and styles. The new epoxy primer, TRPE35™, is designed to improve durability and corrosion resistance when used with the Axalta Trailer Topcoat. The current color offering includes solid black, white, red, metallic silver, gunmetal, mocha and new victory red.
