As quoted by the infamous Edward Hopper, “If I could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint.” Welcome to the Brightside is the embodiment of Hopper’s words, breathing life and spirit into inanimate objects, pieces of clothing, paper, and land.
Welcome to the Brightside agency is at the forefront of the American artistic revolution, serving as a launching pad for innumerable creative individuals and groups. Through collaborations and purposeful work, Katie Brightside and her team are redefining the landscape of interior design, wallcoverings, wall murals, and wallpaper trends as a whole.
As the founder and leader of Welcome to the Brightside, Katie has created a platform for all artists, painters, and drawing enthusiasts to enjoy, create, and appreciate art in all of its forms.
Katie has over two decades of experience as a designer and artist, striving to help the world become a brighter place. Born in Swindon, United Kingdom, Katie imparted that her grandfather helped her find her calling, stating the following:
“My grandfather Ray, and old-school graphic designer, you know that time before computers? He taught me to draw this one time. I was about 7, but I didn’t recognize the gift he gave me until I arrived in the United States and began illustrating professionally. At school, I was hands-down the best creative, but the worst at life drawing and painting. What I have learned over the years is that my grandfather taught me to express feeling in the work,” said Katie.

In 2022 Katie and Welcome to the Brightside team brought magic into to the City of Hope Cancer Hospital in Orange County, by collaborating with Lauren Miller of Modern Art Services on the skylight artwork for the MRI and Vaults rooms.
“It was such a pleasure to collaborate with Katie on the skylights for City of Hope. The artworks were designed with the patient in mind and feature soft watercolored visuals of flowers, butterflies, koi fish and hummingbirds to give a sense of visual movement while also offering a beautiful distraction to help patients relax during treatment.” States Lauren Miller.

The Digs Collection is a collection of luxury wallpapers, and one of the most prolific offspring of Welcome to the Brightside. Sponsored by Astek Wallcovering the glorious display of The Digs Collection at Pasadena Showcase House in 2020 was a massive success for Katie. She seized this opportunity to cement her reputation as one of the finest wallcovering muralists in the US, as her art resonated with thousands of bystanders, art appreciators, and customers.
Welcome to the Brightside has announced that its team will collaborate with Hyatt’s in-house design team on remodeling the Andaz Hotel on the Sunset Strip. According to Katie, she plans to “bring her full creative force” with a site-specific concept as a feature wall in 239 rooms.
