Vista Equity Partners (“Vista”), a global technology investor that specializes in enterprise software, today announced the winners of its 8th Annual North American and Global Hackathons. Vista’s two independent business innovation competitions provide an opportunity for developers and engineers across the Vista portfolio to connect with peers and compete to advance enterprise software solutions.
This year’s competitions were anchored around the use of agentic AI, or AI systems designed to independently carry out tasks by observing its environment, interpreting context and taking action with minimal human interactions. Each competition was judged by a panel of Vista value creation and product and technology experts during separate, 24-hour competitions held in Washington, DC and Bangalore, India. Submissions were judged based on innovation and originality, feasibility of productization and deployment, potential business impact, completeness of vision and clarity of presentation.
“This year’s Hackathons showcased how agentic AI is rapidly evolving from emerging technology to a transformative force for the enterprise,” said Robert F. Smith, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Vista Equity Partners. “By bringing together the collective expertise of Vista’s portfolio companies and the promise of the next generation of engineers, we are enabling and evangelizing the enormous promise of agentic AI across our portfolio while widening the aperture of opportunity for new talent to work with this new general-purpose technology. That’s the power of the Vista ecosystem at work: accelerating innovation, expanding access and driving impact at scale.”
Combined, the Hackathons featured over 300 competitors across 68 teams representing nearly half of Vista’s portfolio companies. For the second consecutive year, the North American event was hosted by the University of the District of Columbia and included student competitors from 20 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (“HBCUs”) who worked alongside each of the portfolio teams. Bishop Fox served as the exclusive sponsor of the North America event.
Vista is proud to congratulate the winners of this year’s competitions in the following categories:
