EnCap Flatrock Midstream (“EnCap Flatrock”), a midstream energy investment manager, today announced the promotions of Matthew Melton to managing director and Ian Morris to vice president.

About Matthew Melton
Mr. Melton joined EnCap Flatrock in 2017 and is based in the firm’s Houston office. He serves on the board of directors of several EnCap Flatrock portfolio companies, including Aspen Midstream, LLC; Cardinal Midstream Partners IV, LLC; Edgewater Midstream, LLC; Iron Horse Midstream, LLC; and Moda Midstream II, LLC. Outside of EnCap Flatrock, Mr. Melton serves on the Associate Advisory Council of the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin’s Kay Bailey Hutchison Energy Center.
Prior to joining EnCap Flatrock, Mr. Melton worked in investment banking at Citigroup in Houston, where he focused on M&A advisory work as well as public and private capital raises. Prior to Citi, Mr. Melton was a senior analyst working in the Asset Management Group at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Melton holds a B.S. from the University of Texas and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
About Ian Morris
Mr. Morris joined EnCap Flatrock in 2021 and is based in the firm’s San Antonio office. Prior to joining the firm, he was an investment banking analyst at Evercore’s Corporate Advisory business in Houston, where he focused on M&A and capital structure advisory across the energy sector. Mr. Morris leads EnCap Flatrock’s financial analysis efforts across the firm’s portfolio of companies and funds and serves as an observer of several EnCap Flatrock portfolio companies, including Cardinal Midstream Partners IV, LLC; Manchester Energy, LLC; Moda Midstream II, LLC; and Stakeholder Midstream, LLC. Mr. Morris holds a B.S. in Accounting from Trinity University.
