Coastal Medical Transportation Systems Launches Mobile Healthcare Services Provider Estella Health

Enterprise to Deliver Critical in-Home Care to Patients

Coastal Medical Transportation Systems (CMTS) today announced the launch of Estella Health, a mobile healthcare services provider focused on offering more efficient, convenient in-home care. Independently run, the organization will operate as an affiliate under the CMTS corporate umbrella.

Estella Health was founded to elevate how care is delivered to patients in various in-home settings. Through key partnerships with large hospital groups, physicians’ groups, and other network providers, the company is able to provide patients with a diverse clinical team to meet their care delivery needs. Estella Health is well positioned to tackle the Massachusetts market, via CMTS deep geographic presence. The entity already has statewide scale as well as a boots on the ground presence transporting area emergency and non-emergency patients on a daily basis.

“We are thrilled to introduce Estella Health and its breadth of mobile healthcare services to the communities that Coastal Medical Transportation Services have been honored to support over the years,” said Alexandre Theoharidis, CEO of Coastal Medical Transportation Systems. “With the new offering our team is extending how we connect local residents with the care they need, when and where it is needed most. We truly believe that the flexibility that this model offers is poised to fundamentally change the way healthcare is delivered: making it more efficient, convenient, and reliable.”

Mobile healthcare services continue to play a critical role in how healthcare is administered and serving underserved, elderly, and disabled populations who may have limited access to traditional healthcare facilities. Rather than having patients travel to clinics or hospitals, the Estella Health clinical team provides care to patients in the convenience and comfort of their home which has been proven to significantly reduce the need for urgent care visits or long waits in the emergency department. This approach also supports the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple coverage areas and quickly triage and dispatch appropriate resources to provide logistically sound, diverse, and convenient care.

"Earlier this year instED was notified by one of our providers that they would be suspending their service, and we were forced to find an alternative partner, and quickly,” said Christine Malagrida, chief operating officer, instED. “The Estella Health team jumped into action, working closely with my team to ramp up staffing and take the necessary steps to address all of the clinical and regulatory requirements to meet a launch date of September 4, 2023. Since day one they have proven to be clinically sound and extremely flexible to work with to meet the needs of our patients. We are looking forward to continuing the successful collaboration in 2024.”
