Twist Bioscience Becomes Digital Preservation Coalition Supporter

Twist Bioscience Corporation (NASDAQ: TWST), a company enabling customers to succeed through its offering of high-quality synthetic DNA using its silicon platform, today announced it has become a part of the Digital Preservation Coalition’s (DPC) Supporter Program, where members and solution providers can collaborate.

The Digital Preservation Coalition is a membership-based organization, established in 2002 initially as a collaboration between a number of agencies operating in the UK and Ireland, now with global membership. The DPC works to enable its members to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services to derive enduring value from digital assets and raises awareness of the strategic, cultural and technological challenges their members face.

“Our members store immensely rich and valuable cultural and organizational data, with much of that data archived for a long period of time,” commented William Kilbride, executive director of the DPC. “With DNA storage moving from the trial stage to practical implementation, we believe that it will be valuable for our members to evaluate this new differentiated storage medium, particularly with the opportunity to provide input on the initial offering.”

“We are pleased to join the Digital Preservation Coalition and are eager to be an active member of the group,” said Emily M. Leproust, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of Twist. “We look forward to engaging with members to understand their needs for very long-term storage as we refine our Century Archive DNA data storage solution.”
