On September 27, 2004, Insteel Industries, Inc. issued a press release announcing that its application to list its common stock on the NASDAQ National Market System had been approved and that it expects its shares to begin trading on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, under the symbol “IIIN.” A copy of this release is being furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and by this reference made a part hereof.
