Item 8.01 Other Events

 

P. H. Glatfelter Company (the "Company") today issued a press release announcing it would be taking certain cost reduction measures in its Specialty Papers Business Unit. The changes include the shutdown of Paper Machine 24 (“PM24”) at the Company’s Chillicothe, OH, facility, removing approximately 80,000 tons of capacity and eliminating approximately 50 hourly positions.  In addition, Specialty Papers is eliminating 70 salaried positions across the business unit. The actions and the financial impacts are more fully described in the press release which is filed herewith as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
