Dallas, Oct 26, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - For the last twelve months, more than two-dozen African American professional and grassroots organizations from throughout Dallas County have combined their strategic resources to educate and register eligible voters and provide transportation to/from the polls for the country's November 2020 voting election. The groups' focus has been three-fold: ONE: Register eligible voters; TWO: Educate voters on procedural voting changes and locations; THREE: Identify early voters and provide transportation to/from the polls for early voters on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, specifically for Senior

Citizens, the Physically Disabled, and Veterans.

"Even though we have worked as individual groups, coming together as a collective body has helped to maximize our resource to make sure that we have covered as many bases as possible,"  said Tramonica Brown, Founder and Director of Not My Sons.

At the meeting's inception, the group unanimously agreed that the gathering was necessary to share ways of leveraging and integrating the Black Lives Matters movement to continue the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.

"This joint effort of the organizations to get voters registered and provide transportation to-and-from the polls helps to eliminate barriers and to empower new and disenfranchised voters to exercise their rights," said Dominique Alexander, Founder, and Director of Next Generation Action Network. "It only proves that when we work together, the result is limitless."

Reuben Lael, a millennial activist, educator, and artist who has been at the helm of spearheading pulling the groups together, said, " I'm glad to have been one of the individuals to help convene this gathering in order to bridge a generation chasm between the Millennials and Baby Boomers. With the Baby Boomers being at the table to help guide and give us that necessary wisdom we constantly seek is refreshing."
