Now On Kickstarter, Upside Of Maybe’s “Rainmaker” Music Video, Featuring Okama

Now seeking community support via Kickstarter, a professional music video for “Rainmaker,” a new song by Upside of Maybe featuring Okama.

Michael Bannerman, a member of Upside of Maybe, an award-winning, family-friendly, roots-based pop and rock group, has announced a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for the band’s latest project, Pretty Much Drives Itself. Upside of Maybe is seeking support to bring “Rainmaker,” a track from the project, to life in music video form.

A stunning work, “Rainmaker” features beautiful moments of Indigenous percussion, wood flute, throat singing, and chanting. Written from the perspective of a priest coming to terms with their involvement in the Canadian Residential School system, “Rainmaker” depicts a recognition of “blood on (their) hands” as the priest moves to seek forgiveness among feelings of guilt and sorrow. Based in part on the stories surrounding the atrocities of the Canadian residential school system, “Rainmaker” will help to raise awareness about this history for present and future generations, with the utmost respect and dignity for the involved Indigenous community.

Upside of Maybe will work with Stratford, Ontario’s Gregor Reynolds, including his production team, and a number of talented actors and actresses from the Southern Ontario region to bring “Rainmaker” to life in visual and audio form.

For a limited time, listen to a “rough” sample of “Rainmaker,” and support Upside of Maybe, on Kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1701062392/upside-of-maybe-music-video-for-rainmaker-featuring-okama
