Los Angeles, Aug 10, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Throughout history, major historical events including pandemics, recessions, and wars have always been known to affect fashion trends. Teen Vogue predicts COVID-19 will have a substantial effect, perhaps forever, on the way people dress. Modern trends have already been gravitating towards streetwear in recent years, and the COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly amplified the trend of comfort in style.

Consider the case of high heels, loafers and other dress shoes. Their sales have been drastically dropping, and analysts say the pandemic has turbocharged their demise. However, the pandemic accelerated this change to an almost unbelievable extent- 70 percent from March to April, according to NPD footwear analyst Beth Goldstein, who explains, "Retailers are recognizing that they're going to have to rethink what they know about work and fashion. There is going to be a long-term shift."

As society changes, fashion changes with it,  allowing consumers to come up with their own rules. Likewise, fashion brands need to be able to accommodate new preferences as their consumers' needs change. Ultimately, a contemporary brand needs to be able to reflect what is happening in the real world right now. America has been retreating from formal wear for years, take the case of Japanese streetwear. Analysts expect to see more athletic wear and casual attire at the office even after the pandemic is over.

Those who are more fashionable may not be as eager to embrace this change; which is where LA-based luxury lingerie label Fallen Angel decided to step forward. Created in response to society's growing need for functionality in fashion, Fallen Angel's  new contemporary line, "Lingerie As Outerwear",  revolves around versatile, dressed-up loungewear- transitional slip dresses, bodysuits, and bustiers- designed to be worn anywhere and everywhere, whether it be a quiet night in or a wild night out. Designer Sara Hojjat describes the collection in an Instagram post as a "90's grunge twist to modern Japanese streetwear."

Based in Los Angeles, Fallen Angel is known for incorporating dark influences into delicate wardrobe essentials.  If you're in the market for multi-purpose clothing, comfy enough to wear to bed and sexy enough to don on the streets (and really, what woman isn't right now?!), check out their Lingerie As Outerwear collection at shopfallenangel.com now.
