Cleaning Your Oven in 24 Hours

PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 02, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- More people are cooking at home recently due to COVID19. And with cooking at home comes food dripping in the oven and burnt onto the surface. However, these messes can easily be cleaned up with baking soda and vinegar.

Supplies Needed:
• Baking Soda
• Vinegar
• A Bowl
• Spoon
• Measuring Cup
• New Paintbrush
• Rubber Gloves
• Aluminum Foil
• Spray Bottle
• Sponges

Steps to Cleaning:

1. Gather the needed supplies
2. The oven should be emptied of all cook/bake ware an any racks. Using the aluminum foil, any opening or holes should be filled in so that the baking soda mixture does not leak into them.
3. To make the cleaning paste mix 1 cup baking soda with 1/3 cup water water and stir into a paste. Please note the depending on the size of the oven the mixture ingredients may need to be adjusted. More water can be added to the mixture to make it more spreadable.
4. Using the paintbrush apply the paste to inside of the oven. Avoid getting the paste on any heating elements. The paste should sit overnight (12 hours).
5. Clean the racks. The racks can be placed in a bathtub, sink, or laundry tub. If placed in the bathtub, put a towel under them so the bottom of the tub is not scratched. Sprinkle baking soda over the racks. Pour the vinegar into the spray bottle and spray the racks with the vinegar. Once they have been sprayed down, the racks should then be submerged in warm water and left to soak overnight (12 hours).
6. After 12 hours has passed, the dry paste can be removed from the inside of the oven. This can be accomplished with either a damp towel or a plastic spatula.
7. Next the oven should be sprayed with the vinegar. The broiler openings should still be plugged with foil. Following the vinegar, the inside should be scrubbed with a sponge to remove any remaining paste or burnt on residue.
8. Once all the residue is removed from inside of the oven the oven should be wiped down to make sure it is clean. At this point the foil can be removed from inside of the oven.
9. Use a sponge to scrub off any residue on the racks and dry them with a towel. Once dry, the racks can be placed back inside of the oven.
