White Plains, May 29, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Westchester County, New York is very close to New York City, which is ground zero for the Corona Virus. Many of the residents travel to Manhattan for work and recreation, making it possible for them to get the virus and bring it home. The question that we must ask is it safe for a locksmith in the city of Westchester to offer locksmith services?

Security is by far the most important factor of our day to day lives and regardless of the circumstances, people still need to open locks, change high-security locks and make new keys for a car, truck, or motorcycle. So the question is, should a Westchester locksmith service stay open while this pandemic is still going on? This is a big debate in the locksmith community and many companies are still on the front lines despite what is going on. Locksmiths in Yonkers, White Plains, and in numerous other townships are risking their lives to help keep customers safe by making sure that they can lock the door to a home, or replace a car key for their automobile.

Despite the travel restrictions in Westchester, NY people still travel, and when they do they can lose car keys or the keys to their home. This is when locksmith services are needed most because one of the most important reasons people call is to open a locked door or car. However is it safe for an auto locksmith to enter a person's car knowing that they may get sick? If the proper safety measures are taken before entering the automobile then possibly but this is questionable.

Some of the precautions that many Westchester locksmith services should take is having a mask and disinfectant before entering the car or home of the customer. When entering a house or business always ask the customer to spray Lysol in the area that the locksmith is going to install locks and spray surfaces. If they are unable to do that then the locksmith should have it on hand so security services such as installing locks, replacing cylinders, re-keying existing locks, making duplicate car keys, or any of the numerous other services locksmiths provide. More importantly, the locksmith needs to wash his or her hands and keep a ledger of every location in White Plains, or Yonkers so that if they do contract the coronavirus, they can inform the proper authorities.

So the question is do you feel that personal security should be provided by locksmiths in Westchester County, NY. Should they still take on jobs that require them to make timely commitments like changing doors and security gates, or should they keep their potential exposure limited to just doing the basics? What do you think? If you were a locksmith would you continue to give your services and increase your risk, or would you wait it out until a vaccine or treatment becomes available? True Value Locksmith has been working during this difficult time, please take the time to tell us your opinion and what you think!
