Nucleus Research Identifies Hot Companies to Watch in 2020

The analysts from Nucleus Research today unveiled their “Hot Companies to Watch in 2020,” the firm’s list of the 12 technology companies poised to deliver breakthroughs in value to business customers in the coming year.

Nucleus’ “Hot Companies to Watch in 2020” list spans technologies and vertical markets and includes household names and emerging companies alike. As either leaders or strong challengers in their respective markets, Nucleus has assessed the ability of the vendors to execute on their strategies and continue their current momentum.

“The Hot Companies to Watch List is an exciting collection of technology companies that are already delivering outstanding business value to their customers, and are poised for even greater things in 2020,” said Ian Campbell, CEO of Nucleus Research. “It’s an incredibly diverse list with known entities and emerging players, all of which are clearly articulating the business benefits of their solutions for customers and prospects.”

Nucleus’ analysts identified the following 12 organizations as companies to watch in the coming year:

Aera Technologies — The provider of real-time cognitive automation at cloud scale was recognized for its potential to mount a significant challenge to legacy supply chain platforms.

Acumatica — The fast-growing cloud ERP vendor is well-positioned for customers that are looking to replace legacy solutions or net new organizations moving from Quickbooks and spreadsheets.

AllyO — The end-to-end platform for recruiting and employee engagement was recognized for its use of AI, overall flexibility and momentum with a growing customer base.

Apttus — Nucleus foresees noticeable growth from the company, a provider of configure-price-quote (CPQ) and contract lifecycle management (CLM) built on the Salesforce platform.

Box — Despite counting more than 95,000 companies and 70% of the Fortune 500 among its customers, Nucleus believes Box is equipped for continued success because the leader in cloud content management still operates with a start-up’s mentality.

Kinaxis — Analysts believe the provider of supply chain planning technology is well-positioned to provide an alternate path for enterprises that have long relied on tools insufficient for the demands of the modern supply chain.

Looker — The business intelligence platform — which partners with next-gen cloud data warehouses like Fivetran and Snowflake — is well-positioned to help companies push forward with data-driven decision-making initiatives while simplifying their tech stacks.

Rapid7 — The leading provider of security analytics and automation solutions is a rarity among its peers, eschewing fear-based selling strategies to deliver a clear, value-based message to its customers.

Saba — The company continues to be a leader in the learning and talent AI space, providing actionable insights and connecting learning with performance and overall corporate outcomes.

Unit4 — The provider of ERP and other back-office business solutions for large, people-centric organizations has added new capabilities that position it well to take business from legacy providers in its specialized verticals.

Vena Solutions — This cloud-native financial planning and analysis vendor is addressing a huge greenfield opportunity for mid-market corporate performance management (CPM) customers.

Zoho — The provider of business applications for the mid-market is looking to move upmarket as it grows its presence in the U.S. with products that deliver significant value at a low total cost-of-ownership.

The list follows the firm’s Top 10 Predictions for 2020, unveiled in late October.
