Consumers still very confident in the U.S. economy despite festering China trade war

U.S. stock markets took a big hit in August and business leaders fretted after the U.S. trade war with China escalated, but consumers still have a lot of confidence in the economy, a new survey shows. The consumer confidence index fell slightly to 135.1 in August.
