Lumos Networks Receives ‘Build Your Best Network’ Award at ADTRAN Broadband and Business Solutions Summit

ADTRAN®, Inc., (NASDAQ:ADTN), a leading provider of next-generation open networking and subscriber experience solutions, today announced Lumos Networks was presented the ADTRAN “Build Your Best Network Award” at the Broadband and Business Solutions Summit. Lumos Networks, a fiber-based Rural Local Exchange Carrier (RLEC), was recognized for its commitment to delivering the highest value, highest performance services over a robust 10G broadband network that advances the communities it serves.

“Network operators like Lumos Networks are on the forefront of network innovation and service creation,” ADTRAN Vice President of Sales for Americas and Head of Global Business Development Craig Stein said. “They are building multi-generational fiber optic networks that will enrich the lives of people that work, live and play in their region, both now and in the future. This award recognizes the results, and the vision, that Lumos Networks has displayed in terms of service delivery, network impact and commitment to innovation.”

Lumos Networks is continually expanding and upgrading its fiber optics network to address ever-increasing bandwidth demands. The operator recently announced the deployment of 10G capabilities through ADTRAN’s Total Access 5000, and is now equipped to deliver a wide range of next generation services to both residential and business customers. ADTRAN’s “Build Your Best Network Award” also recognized Lumos Networks’ dedication to education and training, including equipping its employees with tools and test equipment, and promoting the positive economic benefits that fiber services have on local communities.

“We are honored to be recognized with the “Build Your Best Network Award,” Lumos Networks Senior VP and General Manager Diego Anderson said. “Consumer and business bandwidth needs are rapidly increasing as data-intensive applications and the number of connected devices is growing. Our fiber infrastructure partnership with ADTRAN enables a differentiating customer experience and facilitates the delivery of fast, reliable broadband services to our customers.”

ADTRAN, and its technology, support and domain expertise, assist Lumos Networks in constructing fiber optic networks that exceed expectations for speed and reliability. Lumos Networks also benefits from service agility, operational simplicity and flexibility afforded by the ADTRAN software-defined access (SD-Access) architecture.
