Wholesale inflation dead in the water, PPI shows

The wholesale cost of U.S. goods and services rose modestly in July, but inflation more broadly appeared dead in the water and showed little sign it’s about to accelerate. The producer price index increased 0.2% last month, but the increase over the past year was unchanged.
