One mother has not seen her son in six years and writes, "I write my son but can barely afford the maybe 3 or 4 phone calls a month ... My only want is to make sure no matter what my son is loved." Another mother wrote, "I just can't afford the gas to make the three hours up and three hours back ... My son calls just once a week because I can't afford to put more than $20 a month on his account."
