Certification was awarded to Burroughs after an independent accounting and auditing firm examined the company's managed maintenance services and found them to meet all standards based on the criteria set forth in TSP section 100 by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA): Trust Service Principles, Criteria, and Illustrations for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality and Privacy.

SOC II is based on policies, communications, procedures and monitoring. In order to successfully achieve certification, the following specific Trust Service Principles must be met by the company:
· Security: The system has controls in place to protect against unauthorized access ‒ both physical and logical;
· Availability: The system is available for operation and use as committed or agreed;
· Processing Integrity: System processing is complete, accurate, timely and authorized;
· Confidentiality: Information that is designated as "confidential" by a user is protected; and
· Privacy: Personal information is collected, used, retained and disclosed in accordance with the operation's privacy notice and principles set by the AICPA.
