By: PRLog
Productivity consultant Emily Parks has been honored with a 2018 Corporate Philanthropy Award by the Triangle Business Journal through her work with the Lung Cancer Initiative of North Carolina (LCI) and other non-profits including the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation, Dress for Success, Senior Services, Inc. and The Shepherd's Center of Kernersville.
RALEIGH, N.C. - June 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Parks, owner of Organize for Success®, is an award winning productivity professional who specializes in work life integration and technology; a public speaker; Certified Evernote Consultant and author.  Parks stated, "I am thrilled to be presented with the Corporate Philanthropy Award. I celebrated ten years volunteering with LCI last year and look forward to the next ten years."

The Triangle Business Journal's Corporate Philanthropy Awards honors non-profits and the corporate citizens (companies and individuals) supporting them through philanthropy, volunteerism, board support and corporate partnerships.

The Lung Cancer Initiative's mission is to save lives and provide support to those affected by lung cancer through research, awareness, education and access programs across North Carolina. LCI specializes in connecting patients, survivors and loved ones with the medical and research community. To learn more about LCI please visit their website: https://www.lungcancerinitiativenc.org/

"Often the level of corporate citizenry mirrors the quality of life in our communities," says Jason Christie, publisher of the Triangle Business Journal.  "The Triangle area is fortunate to have so many passionate and helping nonprofits and individuals that are being guided and supported by committed companies across all industries."

Why is Emily Parks so committed to finding a cure for lung cancer? "I lost my father to lung cancer 18 months after he was diagnosed. I want to make a difference in the lives of people with lung cancer and their families, and hopefully, find a cure someday," Parks explained.

In this short video, Emily shares why funds are needed for LCI.  Once again, she will chair the Greensboro LUNGe Forward 5K Run, Walk and Rally event, and this gives an overview of why funds are needed. This year, the Greensboro Race will be held on November 10th 2018.  https://youtu.be/Q7aeelnGzUQ

The twenty winners were honored on Monday, May 21st at Marbles Kids Museum in downtown Raleigh. The 2018 Corporate Philanthropy Winners were chosen from nearly 90 applicants and have gone above and beyond to make a difference in the local community.   This is the second year the Triangle Business Journal has awarded Corporate Philanthropy Winners.
