Wisconsin Drug Testing Consortium Helps Companies Stay in Compliance
GREEN BAY, Wis. - March 20, 2018 - PRLog -- The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced its random testing rates for DOT Agencies for 2018, keeping them unchanged from 2017. Wisconsin Drug Testing Consortium (WDTC), which provides third party drug testing services in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, reminds employers to schedule their first quarter random drug testing appointments.

WDTC, an accredited, Certified Third Party Administrator (C-TPA), specializes in DOT random drug testing and other affordable services for corporate drug-free workplace programs and other initiatives.

"Working with an accredited C-TPA like us eliminates the liability for possible targeting that an individual might claim against their employer," explains Mike Bray, WDTC president. "Since random drug testing comprises only a small piece of operations, most companies find it comforting to have a second set of eyes ensuring compliance to DOT regulations."

First-Quarter Period Closing for Random Drug Testing
The minimum random drug testing rate for all covered Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) employees will remain at 25 percent for calendar year 2018. The minimum random alcohol testing rate remains at 10 percent for both agencies.

The results of the 2016 survey were used to determine the 2018 testing rates. The 2016 survey showed an estimated positive rate for random drug testing at 0.7 percent and random alcohol testing at 0.03 percent. Consortiums and Third Party Administrators such as WDTC who are subject to more than one DOT agency drug and alcohol testing rule are able to combine covered employees into a single random selection pool.

"Companies that utilize our services are assured of meeting the appropriate rules and regulations when it comes to random drug testing," Bray says. "We take care of managing the random drug testing process and track results so your staff can concentrate on tasks that bring value to your business."
