The implications of exponential data growth are alarming, the research firms IDC confirms that from 2013 – 2020 data will grow from 4.4 trillion gigabytes to 44 trillion – a 10X factor. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects an 11% increase in the need for DBAs. And the Ponemon Institute estimates the average data breach cost US companies $3.5 million in 2017, with a 27% probability that a U.S. company will experience a breach in the next 24 months.
