Company Update (NYSE:BA): Boeing set to win $2.9 billion contract from UK MoD: the Telegraph

[Reuters] – The MoD has decided to give Boeing a 50-aircraft contract, including servicing, and the announcement could come as early as July, the newspaper said. Italian aerospace manufacturer Leonardo Finmeccanica SpA (LDOF.MI) had been a contender for the contract, the Telegraph said. U.S. planemaker Boeing is offering the helicopters at a lower price by tacking them on to the end of a larger Apache order from the US military, the paper added. Read more on this. The Boeing Company (BA) , with a current value of $82.31B, started the session at $128.96. Today’s price range has been between $128.83 and $129.70 per share with a one year range of $102.10 to $150.59. BA shares are currently priced at 15.22x this year’s forecasted earnings, which makes them relatively inexpensive compared to the industry’s 24.92x earnings multiple for the same period. The company pays shareholders $4.36 per share annually in dividends, yielding 3.37%. According to a consensus of 15 analysts, the earnings estimate of $2.14 per share would be $0.52 better than the year-ago quarter and a $0.02 sequential increase. The full-year EPS estimate is $8.49 which would be a $0.77 better than last year’s full-year earnings. The quarterly earnings estimate is predicated on a consensus revenue forecast of $23.22 Billion. If reported, that would be a 5.38% decrease over the year-ago quarter. Recently, BofA/Merrill downgraded BA from Neutral to Underperform (Apr 20, 2016). Previously, Canaccord Genuity downgraded BA from Buy to Hold.
