Martin Brossman Establishes Social Media Presence for Proposed White House Council on Boys and Men

By: PRLog
RALEIGH, N.C. - Sept. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Since 2010, social media trainer and consultant Martin Brossman has been building the foundation of the social media marketing campaign for the proposed White House Council on Boys and Men, intending to work in parallel with the existing White House Council on Women and Girls, pending Presidential executive order.

The coalition to create a White House Council on Boys and Men was formed by a commission of thirty-four nationally-known men and women, organized by Chairman Warren Farrell, author of many books on men’s and women’s issues, and former board member of NOW. This group of leading experts recognizes the urgency to focus on crisis-level problems faced by boys and men in the areas of education, physical and emotional health, absentee fatherhood, and preparation for meaningful work. They envision future solutions that will build the strength of the family for the benefit of both men and women, achieving growing support thanks largely to the impetus that responsive social media resources have been providing.

“Over the past 5 years my goal has been building the key social media platforms that best express the Council’s core mission, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube,” Martin Brossman said. “Consulting with Tom Golden, a Washington DC therapist who is one of the initial commissioners of the proposed Council, I assisted in creating a fully optimized website. whitehouseboysmen.org.

I also provided the concept and basic training on how to use Google Hangouts on Air that has been a very powerful communication tool leading to greater online exposure for the grassroots publicity of the project.”

A memorable example of Martin Brossman’s online strategy occurred in 2012 when Warren Farrell faced a fierce protest at the University of Toronto. “I suggested creating a Google Hangout on Air with the key parties involved,” Brossman explained. “This showed up at the top of a Google search adjacent to the media's criticism which focused only on the protesters. This lead to over 38,867 views that supported the next video gaining over 591,113.”

Here is one example of an article covering the event that focuses primarily on the protestors rather than focusing on Ferrell's talk.

As of August, 2015 Martin Brossman is handing over his social media advisory role for the proposed White House Council on Boys and Men to Glenn Barker, Executive Director at The ManKind Project Chicago [https://www.linkedin.com/pub/glenn-barker/1b/b5/25b]. “I’ll be moving to more of an as-needed background role,” Brossman commented, enthusiastic about staying connected. “Their mission is aligned with my personal mission of encouraging men to become better men. The Council’s formation would make a profound difference in our country.”
