Providing over 300 women with Free Mammograms in 2015 across the state of Texas.
PRLog - June 18, 2015 - HOUSTON -- Houston based Avalanche Food Group (AFG) owns seven Twin Peak Restaurants in the southern Houston area as well as in Indiana. Each year, the AFG team holds the “Bra-Tacular” event in each location, auctioning off custom made bras for charity.

Each Twin Peaks Girl has the opportunity to make and design her own bra to be auctioned off for charity. Over 100 Twin Peaks Girls participate in making their custom bras to be auctioned off during the events that take place in each of the Avalanche Food Group locations in the month of October.

This event has generated over $85,000 in just two years of hosting the event resulting in helping hundreds of women across the state of Houston receive free mammograms and covering the costs of necessary treatment. This year, AFG will partner with The Rose providing over 300 mobile mammograms for women across Houston and in Corpus Christi, Texas.

“This event has grown each year, and coming up on our third year we expect to raise more funds than ever,” says Ricky Rosa, Co-Founder of AFG. “This coming October we have some new ideas and surprises that we plan to roll out that we know will take the event to another level and help us raise more funds to hopefully continue to help more people every year.”

"For the second year in a row, Twin Peaks has engaged their employees and customers to raise money in October for our community. Not only is Twin Peaks raising funds for breast cancer detection services, they are also creating awareness by engaging audiences that we cannot reach," said Dorothy Gibbons, CEO and Co-Founder of The Rose. "Our gift from Twin Peaks last year saved lives and there is no doubt that this year’s gift will do the same."

The Rose, operating since 1986, is the first non-profit breast cancer organization based on insured women, covering the cost of those that are uninsured. The Rose offers a full range of breast cancer screening and diagnostic services including mammograms, ultrasounds, biopsies and access to treatment. Through the mobile mammography program, The Rose covers 35 counties in Southeast Texas with a fleet of vans, which are helping break down barriers to quality breast health care such as lack of convenience and accessibility.

AFG owns multiple Twin Peaks locations including Twin Peaks on Kirby, Shenandoah, Kirkwood, Webster, Hwy 290, Corpus Christi and one store in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Rosa brothers, John, Joe and Ricky, founders of Avalanche Food Group, are looking forward to expanding the Twin Peaks Brand and expanding into new cities across the state of Texas and nationally.

The Avalanche Food Group currently owns seven Twin Peaks locations. Twin Peaks currently has 71 locations nationally with plans for an additional 15 locations before the end of the year.
