The Honda CR-V Tops the Crossover Class Around St. Louis

By: PRLog
Available now at Gateway Honda dealers, the forefather of the crossover utility vehicle class continues to dominate over the competition.
PRLog - Sep. 27, 2013 - ST. LOUIS -- When drivers in the St. Louis area are on the market for a new family vehicle, many of them already head to a Gateway Honda dealer to check out one of their larger options like the Pilot, Odyssey, or their family-friendly crossover: the Honda CR-V.

While the SUV and the minivan have been around for a while and it can be tough to trace their lineage, the crossover began with Honda not too long ago, and the latest Honda CR-V is available for test drive and purchase now. If the streets around St. Louis seem to be filled with this stylish and well-equipped new crossover, there's a good reason for that: it outsold the competition for yet another month, besting the Ford Escape by nearly 8,000 units.

Not only was this a good month for the CR-V, but it represented a significant leap ahead from this time last year, when August sales were over 10,000 units lower. Just what is it that could be causing such a surge in sales?

Part of Honda's initiative to redefine standard features, the 2013 CR-V came equipped with standard equipment that put competitors to shame, including:

     • A rearview camera system

     • Built-in touchscreen infotainment system

     • Bluetooth phone and audio streaming

     • Pandora compatibility

     • SMS text messaging integration

And this is just for 2013. 2014 CR-V models are available now as well, featuring notable improvements on the last model. There's more than enough power under the hood as well, with the 2014 model sporting a 2.4L four-cylinder that can get up to 185 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque while still getting an EPA-estimated 31 highway mpg.*

To see the latest CR-V firsthand, visit a St. Louis Honda dealer. Gateway Honda dealers have seven locations across the greater St. Louis metro area, and in addition to stocking the full lineup of new Honda autos, they also carry a diverse selection of used cars, trucks, and SUVs from all different automakers.

Gateway Honda Dealers includes Frank Leta Honda, Bommarito Honda, Honda of Frontenac, Meyer Honda Co., Ed Napleton Honda, West County Honda, and Mungenast St. Louis Honda.
