Cingari Family ShopRite, the Cingari family-owned and operated supermarket chain, is kicking off 2023 by formally announcing its management of the ShopRite of Bristol, located at 1200 Farmington Ave. & Rt. 6. A longtime Connecticut business, Cingari Family ShopRite also owns and operates 12 ShopRite stores in southwestern Connecticut.

“We felt the new year and our kickoff of the annual ShopRite Can Can sale this month was a great time to say how very excited we are to join the community and bring our Grade A shopping experience and Cingari family traditions to Bristol,” says Tom Cingari, Sr., President, and CEO of Cingari Family ShopRite. “We hope that new and returning customers enjoy the traditional, family-friendly service that the Cingari brand and ShopRite are proud to showcase. The ShopRite of Bristol is a one-stop-shop for fresh, quality foods at low prices. We look forward to meeting new faces and making friends this year and for many years to come.”

ShopRite’s online service, Order. Pickup. Deliver, is now available for customers at the Bristol location to service same-day online pickup and delivery orders. The store also offers Grade Above (Grade A) branded items specially made by Cingari Family ShopRite. The Grade A line brings Cingari family recipes and an elevated, premium brand quality to the fresh prepared foods department with superior ready-to-eat and ready-to-make ingredients and meals to go. Grade A products combine chef expertise with convenience for a memorable eating experience.

The Cingari Family ShopRite legacy is built on a long family tradition with deep roots in Connecticut.

Salvatore Cingari started the grocery business more than 80 years ago by selling groceries and fresh produce from a converted school bus after he lost his job during the Depression. The family went on to open Grade A Market before joining the retailer-owned supermarket cooperative Wakefern Food Corp. in 1991 and opening ShopRite stores. Today the Cingaris represent a fourth-generation, family-run business employing more than 2,200 associates across stores in Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties. Cingari Family ShopRite is dedicated to supporting the communities where its stores operate and offering the kind of customer service and personal touch only a neighbor can provide.
