The San Diego Plastic Surgery Society is a prestigious organization comprising plastic surgeons dedicated to promoting education, research, and ethical practices in plastic surgery. All members are board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and hold membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), two credentials that signal excellence in patient care and a dedication to advancing the field of plastic surgery.

Dr. Gallus has a national reputation as a leader in the field of plastic surgery. Her career began with a distinguished tenure in the U.S. Navy, where she held key leadership positions and honed her skills in complex reconstructive procedures. After her military service, Dr. Gallus founded Restore SD Plastic Surgery, a cosmetic-focused plastic surgery practice where she offers a wide range of plastic surgery procedures including breast surgery, tummy tucks (abdominoplasty), liposuction, and non-surgical treatments such as Botox® and dermal fillers. At Restore SD, she is known for an educational, patient-centered approach to cosmetic medicine, as well as a commitment to excellence in plastic surgery results.

With over two decades of experience in practice, she has served as chair of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Women’s Plastic Surgery and Ethics committees, has lectured widely on behalf of the Plastic Surgery Foundation, and has been a featured expert in numerous articles in national publications. Her unique and varied background, along with her dedication to continuous learning, make her well-positioned to lead the San Diego plastic surgery community.

“The San Diego Plastic Surgery Society plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of care and fostering collegiality within the San Diego medical community,” Dr. Gallus explained. “While many of us also participate in annual conferences of national plastic surgery organizations, having such a robust local network is a unique benefit of practicing in a city of San Diego’s size. We are uniquely positioned to support and inspire one another.”

SDPSS was established to promote ongoing education and connection among plastic surgeons in and around the San Diego community, and the organization now has over ninety members. It continues to evolve to meet its members' shared needs and interests as surgeons serving the same bustling local area.

Dr. Gallus’ service as President-Elect is a testament to her commitment to advancing the field of plastic surgery in the region. In the new role, she plans to focus on advancing the society’s mission to promote excellence in plastic surgery through education and advocacy. “One of my primary goals is to enhance the professional development opportunities available to our members,” she stated. “By investing in our own education and skill development, we can stay abreast of trends and techniques to provide even better care for our patients.”

Dr. Gallus is also passionate about community engagement and patient education. “Part of my vision is to increase public awareness about the importance of choosing board-certified plastic surgeons,” she added. “Educating patients about their options and ensuring they have access to the safest and most effective procedures is crucial.”
