The clinical team at Mission Prep is pleased to be doing more to support teenagers who are living with anxiety as the prevalence of the condition continues to rise, with the latest figures from the CDC showcasing that 10% of children aged 3 to 17 now have diagnosed anxiety.
For the majority of teens with anxiety, Mission Prep recommends outpatient care, which allows teenagers to receive the comprehensive therapeutic care they require, whilst retaining the routines, patterns, and social connections of their normal life.
At Mission Prep, teens in need will receive an individual care plan that takes into account their unique circumstances and experiences of anxiety.
As their spokesperson explained, “At Mission Prep, our outpatient mental health treatment programs offer a variety of therapies and interventions tailored to meet the unique needs of teens. Individual therapy provides one-on-one sessions with licensed therapists, giving teens a safe space to explore their emotions and experiences, and group therapy creates a supportive environment where teens can connect with peers facing similar challenges, fostering shared learning and encouragement."
Their individual outpatient care plans also blend evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with holistic wellness activities that can provide the spark of joy and belonging among teens.
As such, in addition to these structured therapies, all teens in Mission Prep's outpatient program will gain access to their affirming experiential outings and wellness initiatives, including regular art therapy sessions, surf therapy sessions, a gardening group, skateboarding group, and yoga classes. Weekly activities like movie nights, beach trips, go-karting excursions, and more, are also a fundamental part of their recovery plans and are available on an opt-in basis.
Their spokesperson added, “By offering a range of therapeutic interventions, our outpatient programs give teens the opportunity to manage their mental health while maintaining their daily lives, creating a path to recovery that’s adaptable to their unique needs.”
Mission Prep has four neighboring residential centers in Rancho Palos Verdes in California, where they welcome teens aged 12 to 17 who are seeking inpatient, intensive outpatient and outpatient care for mental health issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, schizophrenia, ADHD, and more.
