Village Caregiving (VCG), a mission-driven, privately-owned home care agency in the U.S., today announced the appointment of Anna Lawhon to Chief Compliance Officer to continue enhancing the company’s strong culture of care, integrity and accountability.

In this role, Lawhon will oversee and lead the company’s compliance team to ensure strict adherence to all federal, state and program requirements, such as Medicaid, the development of companywide policies and procedures, and the ongoing professional education and training of its staff and caregivers. She was promoted to the executive position after serving nearly two years as Vice President of Provider Relations.

Lawhon joined VCG in 2022 as the Director of Clinical Quality, bringing her medical training and expertise as an oncology nurse. During her time at the company, she has led various initiatives, including developing and implementing company-wide documentation standards, caregiver and director-level training programs and credentialing for Medicaid and other federal and state health care programs.

“I became a nurse to help people,” added Lawhon. “However, I soon realized that my impact was limited to just a shift. I wanted to be in a position to address the challenges of care instead of just managing them for the day. A registered nurse, Lawhon earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia.
