Avangrid employees exceed their goal of 35,000 volunteer hours
The Avangrid Foundation, the philanthropic arm of leading energy company Avangrid Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced that Avangrid employees volunteered over 42,000 hours in 2025, shattering their stated goal of 35,000 hours. Avangrid employees have increased their volunteer hours tenfold since 2021 when it began tracking these figures.

Avangrid employees volunteered in 26 states across the company’s service areas, supporting 431 organizations with their efforts.
Last year’s volunteer highlights include:
- Donated 317 pints of blood, supporting lifesaving treatments patients in urgent need. The donations from Avangrid employees helped ensure blood was available when it was needed most.
- Funded the planting of 73,185 trees across forests, parks, and community green spaces, strengthening local ecosystems, improving air quality, and supporting long‑term environmental resilience in communities we serve.
- Collected 10,005 food items, helping to stock local food pantries, providing thousands of meals for families experiencing food insecurity.
- Assembled and donated 1,320 school backpacks filled with essential supplies, helping students start the school year ready to learn and ensuring families facing financial stress had one less burden.
- Collected and donated 1,507 toys, bringing holiday joy and moments of comfort to children and families receiving support from hospitals, shelters, and social service organizations.
- Supported 11 Habitat for Humanity home builds, contributing hands‑on labor to help construct safe, affordable housing for families striving toward stability and homeownership.
- Assembled and donated 300 Easter baskets for hospitalized children, providing moments of brightness, celebration, and emotional support for kids undergoing medical care.

In addition to corporate giving, the Avangrid Foundation amplifies the impact of employee service through its Energized for Good Program. Through this initiative, the Avangrid Foundation donates to qualifying organized based on employee volunteer time, up to 100 hours per employee. The program also matches 50 cents on every dollar up to $1,500 in match funds per employee for qualifying organizations.
In 2025, Avangrid employees’ 42,000 volunteer hours generated more than $410,000 in volunteer rewards donations through the Energized for Good program. Additionally, Employee donations and Foundation matching gift funds generated over 420,000. Thanks to direct employee engagement and giving, an additional $830,000 were provided to local community organizations in 2025.
