ecodan®Pro CAHV heat pump water heater
The first solution METUS is debuting in the ecodan®Pro product line is the CAHV. The CAHV is a modular air-source heat pump unit designed for efficient space heating and industrial hot water applications. Utilizing low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant R454C, the CAHV delivers outlet water temperatures up to 165° F (74° C), making it suitable for multi-family residences, hospitals, factories, dormitories, hotels, and health centers.
The CAHV’s flexible design allows up to 16 units to be grouped for scalable capacity, while advanced features such as rotation function, wide operating temperature range, and low maintenance requirements promote reliable performance. The CAHV stands out for its eco-friendly operation and adaptability across diverse heating needs.
“The future of hydronic heating and domestic hot water is all-electric, all-climate air-source heat pumps,” said David Archer, Vice President of Commercial Business, METUS. “Buildings and industrial facilities transitioning away from fossil-fuel burning systems are looking for future-proof options. The ecodan®Pro product line will help create all-electric spaces in many industries.”
The CAHV was engineered to be an energy efficient, low-carbon alternative to fossil fuel-burning systems, and the solution can be used to either supplement or replace conventional heating sources in hot water systems. In certain settings, the system can also be used for domestic hot water production.
The CAHV has a nominal operating capacity of 136,480 BTU/H and can be used as a single unit or part of a multiple unit system. CAHV units feature modular design and grooved piping connections, simplifying installation for both retrofit and new construction projects. With scalable capacity and advanced flow control, the system adapts to a variety of building layouts. Design support tools and resources are available to help engineers and contractors optimize system performance for specific site requirements.
Designed for low maintenance, CAHV units incorporate features such as wide operating temperature ranges, anti-freeze protection, and robust water-side design. These attributes promote dependable performance and lower lifecycle costs for building owners.
The CAHV system also offers multiple operational modes, including capacity priority and eco (outdoor air reset) settings, for efficiency and comfort. Integrated rotation functions ensure balanced run hours across grouped units, while remote control options provide flexible scheduling and system management.
