More than 70 students, educators, and community members participated in ATSG's Girls in Aviation Day.

The event introduced young women to the many career opportunities available in the aviation and aerospace industries, with hands-on experiences ranging from flight simulation to aircraft maintenance, ground equipment operations, engineering, and aviation design.

Highlights of the day included:

  • Aircraft Tours and Maintenance Demos – Students explored aircraft hangars and learned directly from aviation technicians about maintenance.

  • Flight Simulators – Attendees experienced what it’s like to be in the cockpit of a Boeing 757 simulator with the guidance of professional pilots and instructors.

  • STEM Workshops – Partner organizations, including Cincinnati State Technical and Community College and others, hosted interactive activities showcasing engineering, structures, and design.

  • Ground Operations – Students got behind the wheel of airport firefighting and deicing equipment.

  • Creative Aviation Projects – Younger participants designed and presented their own aircraft livery artwork.

“This event is about inspiring the next generation of aviation leaders,” said Kym Parks, director of marketing at ATSG. “By opening our facilities and engaging students with real-world experiences, we hope to show them that there is a place for them in this exciting industry—whether as pilots, engineers, technicians, or leaders.”

The 2025 Girls in Aviation Day was made possible through the collaboration of ATSG with partners such as Cincinnati State, University of Cincinnati-Clermont / Sporty’s Academy, Bowling Green State University, and Wright State University.

ATSG remains committed to workforce development and community engagement through initiatives like Aviation Camp, AirborneTech (earn-while-you-learn A&P program), ATSG Pilot Pathways, and partnerships with schools and universities across the region.
