“Dr. Moll’s incredible legacy of pioneering the surgical robotics category perfectly aligns with our mission to transform the future of eye surgery,” said Dr. Joseph Nathan, ForSight Robotics’ co-founder, president, and Chief Medical Officer. “As we look to bring the ORYOM™ Platform, the world's first platform for fully robotic cataract surgery, to market, Dr. Moll’s unparalleled expertise will be instrumental in accelerating our growth and shaping ophthalmic innovation.”

A distinguished and prolific medical device entrepreneur, Dr. Moll brings decades of expertise to the ForSight Board. He founded Intuitive Surgical in the 1990s, pioneering robotic-assisted surgery and transforming minimally invasive procedures across dozens of specialties with its da Vinci robotic system. He then founded Auris Health, which was acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2019. Most recently, he served as Chief Development Officer for J&J Medical Devices between 2019 and 2023. He has served on ForSight’s Strategic Advisory Board since the company’s founding in 2020 and is a current investor in ForSight Robotics.

“Throughout my career, I have worked with medical robotics companies to improve healthcare access and outcomes for patients worldwide,” said Dr. Moll. “ForSight Robotics is advancing surgical robotics in eye care, helping to avoid preventable blindness and address the global shortage of ophthalmic surgeons. Having supported the company since its inception, I’m confident in its team, tools, and potential to reshape the industry. I’m proud to continue serving as a strategic advisor during this period of significant growth.”

Dr. Moll’s appointment comes alongside the recent hiring of Yonatan Ushpizin as vice president of research and development and Ilanit Edri as vice president of people, reflecting ForSight’s strategic effort to expand its leadership team. Ushpizin brings nearly 20 years of experience leading multidisciplinary product development from concept to commercialization at companies like Medtronic, Mazor Robotics, and Meytar R&D. Most recently, he served as Director of Robotics Research and Technology at Medtronic, where he played a key role in advancing robotics innovation. At ForSight, he will spearhead the next phase of the ORYOM™ Platform’s evolution as the company scales.

Edri brings over 25 years of experience in HR leadership roles within leading global organizations. Throughout her career, Ilanit has held key positions, such as Vice President of Human Resources at Elbit Systems (ISTAR Division) and VP of HR at The Open University of Israel. Additionally, she served as Head of HR for Teva Pharmaceuticals’ Global Generic R&D, for Tnuva Dairy, and for Medtronic Ventor. At ForSight, Edri will drive the company’s growth while cultivating a high-performance culture and aligning talent strategies with business objectives. Ushpizin and Edri are the first to hold these positions, underscoring a pivotal step in ForSight’s advancement and long-term vision.

“With the addition of Yonatan and Ilanit to our leadership team and the unparalleled guidance of Dr. Moll, ForSight is positioned to revolutionize ophthalmic surgery,” said Dr. Nathan. “Together, we are building a future where cutting-edge robotic surgery eradicates preventable blindness and sets new standards in surgical excellence; we are thrilled to lead the charge in transforming eye care worldwide.”
