Gen Bauer Assumes the Helm of Michaels' Award-Winning Property Management Services

CAMDEN, NEW JERSEY / ACCESS Newswire / March 2, 2026 / The Michaels Organization, a national leader in residential real estate, announced today that Gen Bauer has officially assumed leadership of Michaels Management as part of a planned succession for Kimberlee Schreiber, who has served as President of Michaels Management for more than a decade.

Kimberlee will transition to a new role focusing on business development, beginning March 1st. She had announced last April that she plans to retire within the next year.

For the past ten months, Bauer has been focused on understanding the depth of our property operations, including financial management, our resident services model, compliance, and our technology platform.

She has also had lead responsibility for our student/market and military housing operations. With the addition of Michaels' affordable portfolio, Bauer will now have lead responsibility for more than 75,000 apartment units and 550+ communities across 39 states, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Michaels manages across the entire spectrum of market segments, including affordable, student/market-rate, attainable workforce, and privatized military housing.

In her new role, Kimberlee will focus on growing our fee-management portfolio and working with our development team, scaling up Michaels' attainable housing portfolio.

Bauer joined Michaels as Executive Vice President in 2025 with a wealth of previous experience, including serving as Chief Operating Officer at MAXX Properties. Prior to that she had senior leadership roles at Balfour Beatty Communities and WinnCompanies. Educated at the University of Denver, Bauer holds a Master's Degree in Leadership and Organizations. Bauer is also involved with a multitude of industry organizations, where she focuses on training, mentoring, and operational best practices.
