UNIONDALE, NY / ACCESS Newswire / March 21, 2025 / Marquis Who's Who honors Anthony J. Marchi, DHSc, for his excellence in health care and his military service. As a leader in health care sustainability and environmental health, Dr. Marchi is currently the technical director of health care sustainability and environmental health at Ecompex Inc., where he has worked since 2024. In this role, he leverages his skills and expertise to lead enterprise-wide sustainability and performance improvement initiatives across military treatment facilities (MTFs) and build structured, high-impact programs to meet objectives.

Military Background
Dr. Marchi has nearly 30 years of experience holding leadership positions in the military and private sectors. He joined the military in 1997, beginning as a combat medic and then advancing to a senior line medic. In 2006, after serving in Bosnia, Germany and Iraq, he studied to become a flight medic and continue his service in the U.S. Army.

Academic Achievements
Supplementing his work experience with formal education, Dr. Marchi has an extensive educational background that has aided his career and personal interests in philosophy and psychology. His academic achievements include a bachelor's degree in health science from Purdue University Global and a master's degree in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University. He followed these degrees with a Doctor of Health Sciences in leadership in clinical practice and education from The George Washington University.

As an avid learner, Dr. Marchi has furthered his education by engaging in several continuing studies programs, including being awarded a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) by the American Hospital Association. He has also received a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification from the National Association for Healthcare Quality.

Professional Career
Before his role at Ecompex Inc., Dr. Marchi worked as a knowledge management analyst for the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) in 2023, and from 2018 to 2021, he served as a U.S. Army critical care program primary instructor, team lead and simulations educator at 1Prospect Technologies.

Responsibilities of Dr. Marchi's at Ecompex Inc. include developing and implementing sustainability policies through the Military Health System, ensuring compliance with the Defense Health Agency (DHA), as well as collecting, analyzing and presenting sustainability data that uses inferential statistics for the DHA annual report. Additionally, he designs health promotion initiative workshops, leads risk assessments and strategic reports and leads cost-saving initiatives to enhance mission readiness.

Achievements
Dr. Marchi's most notable achievement was during his time facilitating an international collaboration between paramedics and nurses to establish new policies and clarify jurisdiction over pharmaceuticals and liabilities on the U.S. Black Hawk helicopter platform. He worked closely with the allied commanders, helping to successfully plan and implement the operation, deploying a flight paramedic and a flight nurse. This was significant given the high operational tempo and limited resources. At the time, discussions were also taking place among NATO countries regarding the potential purchase of Black Hawk or NH-90 helicopters.

Dr. Marchi credits his professional successes to his resilience and tenacity, believing anything is possible when it comes to providing the best patient care.

Outside the Profession
Outside of his professional and academic pursuits, Dr. Marchi volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank and as a court-appointed special advocate for Child Advocates of San Antonio.

Reflecting on leadership, Dr. Marchi believes that empathy and a clear voice capable of leading the room are crucial for today's leaders. Having to communicate what is happening around him, his strong voice has been instrumental in leading others amid chaos or busy business environments.

Looking to the future, Dr. Marchi aims to secure a role in shaping health care policies that will enhance community health outcomes and improve the health care system, specifically in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
