PHILADELPHIA, PA - FEBRUARY 2, 2026 - We're living in a divisive time and Philly Sound Exchange's purpose is connection, love, and celebration of our shared humanity. Since 2018 PSX's mission has been to connect city and suburban high school students and use music as a vehicle and common language to engage in meaningful conversations around race and identity.
On Monday, January 19th, the culmination of 8 years of students' thoughts, feelings, musical ideas, and vision for a more connected future when they brought their original musical "Bridges" to the World Cafe Live main stage on MLK Day from 2pm to 5pm.
The show was written and was performed by students from over 20 area high schools and tells a powerful story of connection, mutual understanding, and challenges the traditional music education system. Over 200 people from across the region brought their entire families to this soulful, high energy music and dance driven show that is truly student-created from end to end.
