      On March 8, 2010, MetLife, Inc. issued a press release announcing its agreement to acquire American Life Insurance Company, a subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference. The press release is furnished and not filed, pursuant to Instruction B.2 of Form 8-K.
